Objectives
This course is designed to teach students the skills to be effective speakers in a foreign language through the presentation of the theory of professional communication and speaking exercises to be able to use theoretical ideas in practice.
Academic results
Knowledge
- • Students are familiar with the principles of presentation techniques and are able to use them in practice;
- • they are aware of the major norms of grammar and correct language use of the relevant foreign language.
Skills
- • Students know the principles of professional communication in the relevant foreign language.
- • They are able to deliver good quality, carefully drafted, linguistically polished, engaging and enjoyable speeches in the relevant foreign language;
- • they are able to make Power Point presentations to accompany their speech.
Attitude
- • They are expected to deliver carefully prepared, high-quality speeches based on their active knowledge of linguistic norms and the general theory of the relevant foreign language;
- • they are expected to practise constant self-reflection, analyse and evaluate their own speeches.
Independence and responsibility
- • They are expected to be responsible for their own performance;
- • they complete their assignments in an autonomous way and are able to correctly assess their performance.
Teaching methodology
Situational exercises, simulations, situations, oral presentations in the relevant foreign language. Analysis of the above, feedback in the form team/instructor/independent assessment.

- Materials in Hungarian and foreign languages to improve communication and presentations skills
General Rules
A hallgatók beszédprodukcióit közösen értékeljük különböző módokon (egyéni tanári értékelés, társas és csoportos értékelés). A félév során elkészítendő fő házi feladat: egy idegen nyelvű előadás/beszéd megtartása, melyet videóra rögzítünk, és prezentációs szempontból kielemezzük.

A hallgatók beszédprodukcióit közösen értékeljük különböző módokon (egyéni tanári értékelés, társas és csoportos értékelés). A félév során elkészítendő fő házi feladat: egy idegen nyelvű előadás/beszéd megtartása, melyet videóra rögzítünk, és prezentációs szempontból kielemezzük.

Prezentációs technikák (tervezés, történetmesélés, főbb üzenet(ek) átvitele, a célközönség szempontjainak figyelembe vétele, bevezető- és zárópanelek, valamint a kívánt hatások eléréséhez szükséges technikák alkalmazása, látványelemek, hanghordozás/intonáció, stb.), a ppt-prezentációk ismérvei, beszédszándék közvetítése, figyelem fenntartása – stratégiák, szituációs feladatok, helyes előadásmód, nyelvi normák tiszteletben tartása.
