Objectives

The aim of the course is to introduce master students into the multidisciplinary socio-spatial dimensions – socio-economic, political, territorial, environmental – and theoretical background, models of regional development, with a special emphasis on the political-governmental dimension. Embedded in the international context, especially the EU policy (structural and cohesion funds) and institutional framework. Being aware of the national, regional, and local level of regional development governmental systems in a comparative perspective. Practical, case-study research-based experiences will be also included to be prepared for conscious regional and urban development.

Assessment of the learning outcomes described under 2.2. is based on one written end-term test. The assessment includes the right preparation and performance of presentations.
