Objectives

The aim of the subject is to introduce students to the most important theories that describe the individual and group behavioural patterns of social life, and gives an overview of the acquired knowledge on the structure and institutions of modetn societies.

Academic results

Knowledge
  1. Knows the concepts, key relationships and theories needed to describe the regularity of social actions;
  2. know the basic theories of game theory describing interdependent social relations,
  3. know the theories describing the normative embeddedness of social action,
  4. know the main experimental results in the field of behavioural economics.
Skills
  1. Ability to plan, organise and carry out independent learning,
  2. ability to understand and use action theory, game theory, normativity,
  3. typical literature and library resources on influencing behaviour,
  4. be able to recognise in everyday life the typical social situations analysed by the theory of action and to put into practice what they have learned,
  5. is able to use its creativity.
Attitude
  1. It is open to learning and absorbing new information generated by action theory;
  2. collaborate with the teacher and fellow students to develop their knowledge,
  3. expand their knowledge through continuous learning, open to the use of information technology tools.
Independence and responsibility
  1. It welcomes well-founded critical comments,
  2. collaborate with fellow students in certain situations - as part of a team - to solve problems,
  3. applies the methodological individualist approach of action theory to the interpretation of social phenomena.

General Rules

The assessment of the learning outcomes formulated in point 2.2 is based on the active performance in class. Those students who do not get a recommended grade based on their class participation, but get the signature, need to take an exam.

Detailed description of the performance evaluations carried out during the term: Performance assessment: Participation on the lessons, collecting points in class by answering questions, participat-ing in the interactive game, doing homework, etc., and if not enough points are collected, then exam.

Retake and late completion
