Objectives

The course is aimed to improve the language proficiency of students who plan to continue their university studies in a Spanish-speaking country in one of their remaining terms. It is designed to prepare students to properly communi-cate verbally and in writing in a higher education and everyday environment, where a foreign language is used.

  1. • The students already have the knowledge of the language and its structural elements, which are necessary for communication in an environment, where the foreign language is spoken,
  2. they understand the most basic cultural and socio-cultural characteristics of the target country

  1. • They get by in an everyday and higher education setting in the target country,
  2. • they understand official notices and letters regarding their studies, and are able to answer them,
  3. • they can use reasoning techniques and defend their point of view,
  4. • they are able to communicate at the appropriate level of language competence in their written and verbal communication.

  1. • They are open and inclusive towards other cultures,
  2. • they strive to engage in a behaviour that is acceptable in the given foreign culture and they take into consid-eration the characteristics of that culture in everyday life.
Independence and responsibility
  1. • They take responsibility for continuously improving and maintaining their language competence

Teaching methodology

We primarily use cooperation as a teaching method during the course. When working in pairs or in groups, during the continuous interaction, the students have plenty of opportunity to talk and discuss certain topics.

Topics covered during the term

A kurzus során olyan témákat veszünk sorra, amelyek segítik a hallgatókat abban, hogy az idegen nyelvi környezet-ben meg tudjanak felelni az alapvető elvárásoknak. Azaz felkészítjük őket arra, hogy a hétköznapi élet helyszínein, megfelelően viselkedjenek a kommunikációs helyzetekben, pl. lakásbérlés, problémamegoldás konfliktus esetén, egyetemi környezetben történő írásbeli és szóbeli kommunikációs helyzetek megoldása.
