Objectives

The course is designed to enable students to become familiar with real-life work environments (translation agencies, government organisations, cultural institutions etc.), to complete real translation projects under professional control. It aims to allow students to use the competences and skills learned in practice.

Academic results

Knowledge
  1. • Students become familiar with work processes,
  2. • understand the entire process of a project,
  3. • know the responsibilities relating to the various roles in a translation agency (translator, revisor, terminology specialist, PM etc.).
Skills
  1. • Students are able to smoothly adapt to a new work environment,
  2. • they quickly and efficiently carry out their new responsibilities,
  3. • they are able to appropriately communicate with colleagues and clients,
  4. • they are able to work with new programmes, systems.
Attitude
  1. • Students are expected to maintain good relations with their colleagues,
  2. • they actively work together with their mentor,
  3. • they are ready and eager to learn new competences and skills.
Independence and responsibility
  1. • Students carry out the tasks given in an independent and responsible way under the control of a mentor.

Teaching methodology

Students complete 25 hours of internship weekly for 12 weeks. They adapt to the needs and requirements at the place(s) of their internship. They record the tasks completed and newly learned every week in a log.
