Objectives
To present the role and history, main elements and changing set of tools as well as present practices and principles of the environmental and regional policy of the European Union.
Academic results
Knowledge
- The student knows the concept of environmental and regional policy and its relationship with other policies
- They know the history of environmental and regional policy in the European Union;
- They know the basic principles of environmental and regional policy and the characteristics of their development;
- They know the instrument system of regional policy in the European Union.
Skills
- The student is able to overview regional and environmental aspects of EU co-financed projects,
- They are able to effectively participate in the management of such projects, in an interdisciplinary team, in cooperation with other professionals,
- They are able to analyze the compatibility of certain programs and projects with the basic principles of environmental and regional policy,
- They are able to independently draw new conclusions, apply original ideas and solution methods, using adequate analysis methods.

- The student cooperates with the instructor and fellow students;
- They expand their knowledge through continuous knowledge acquisition, monitor the evolution of environmental and regional policy;

Teaching methodology
Achievement of objectives in the framework of lectures. In addition, the students independently prepare their two practical tasks, in which they present, analyze and evaluate the environmental and regional policy of a country of their choice.

General Rules
The learning outcomes stated in point 2.2. are evaluated during the term-time on the basis of a test (summative evaluation of learning outcomes) and a paper to be submitted.
Performance assessment methods
Detailed description of performance evaluations carried out during the term: 1. Summative evaluation of learning outcomes: a complex, written evaluation of the knowledge and ability-type competence elements of the subject in the form of a midterm exam. The test focuses on the assessment of the acquired knowledge and its application, so in addition to the precise knowledge of concepts, it focuses on problem recognition and solutions. The course material on which the evaluation is based is determined by the lecturer of the subject, the available working time is 60 minutes. 2. Partial evaluation of learning outcomes (homework): a complex evaluation method for the subject's knowledge, ability, attitude, and independence and responsibility competency elements, which takes the form of a group project task, the content, requirements, and submission deadline of which are determined by the instructor.

Retake and late completion
1) tests to be written during the semester can be retaken at the end of the term without a fee. Later results always override previous ones. 2) in case of failing the first retake, there is a second retake offered to the student at a defined fee.
