Objectives

The subject gives the curricular framework for the preparation of the thesis. The curriculum provides two such subjects Thesis 1 and Thesis 2 in the fifth and sixth semesters, respectively to complete a dissertation with thorough work with in-depth erudition work by the end of the program. The student applies to the supervisor with the chosen topic. With the help of the supervisor, the student begins his / her dissertation research work. The aim - taking into account and considering individual progress differences - is that the student is - to compile a complete list of readings required for the thesis research; - to read most of the readings required for research and writing; - if the dissertation includes empirical research, to carry it out or to have a very precise research design and schedule; - to have a detailed (paragraph-level) outline; and - to prepare a substantive part of the dissertation (introduction or a chapter) in at least the first version by the end of the semester (including the independent work done during the examination period) The supervisor can specify and modify the requirements and inform the student about them.

Teaching methodology

The subject gives the curricular framework for the preparation of the thesis. The general rules of the work of the student and the supervisor are provided by the University’s Code on Education and Examination and the dissertation regulations of the Faculty. The special expectations are set jointly by the supervisor and the student at the beginning of the semester. According to the regulations, the student can ask additional counseling assistance either inside or outside the institution.

General Rules

A 2.2. pontban megfogalmazott tanulási eredmények értékelése a következő szintek szerint történik - A jeles értékelés feltétele az önálló, folyamatos, proaktív, pontos, érdemi, elmélyült, kreatív munka, és ennek folyamatos visszacsatolása a konzultációs folyamatba. - A jó értékelés feltétele az önálló, folyamatos, proaktív, pontos, érdemi, elmélyült munka, és ennek folyamatos visszacsatolása a konzultációs folyamatba. - A közepes értékelés feltétele a konzulensi biztatást igénylő folyamatos, pontos, érdemi, önálló munka, és ennek folyamatos visszacsatolása a konzultációs folyamatba. - Az elégséges érdemjegy feltétele a konzulensi biztatással is csak nehezen elvégzett folyamatos, érdemi munka és ennek visszacsatolása a konzultációs folyamatba. A témavezető az általános értékelési szempontrendszert pontosíthatja, és a pontos elvárásokról a hallgatót időben és kimerítően informálja. A témavezetőtől a hallgató folyamatos visszajelzést kap a konzultációs munkájára és a szakdolgozati munka részeredményeire (vizsgálati design, adatgyűjtés, adatfeldolgozás, adatreprezentáció, szövegváltozatok). A visszajelzésnél ajánlott a dolgozat értékelési szempontjai szerint elemezni az elvégzett munkát.

Performance assessment methods

Detailed description of the performance evaluations carried out during the term: 1. The supervisor can specify the general assessment criteria and inform the student in time and in detailed about the exact requirements. 2. From the supervisor, the student receives continuous feedback on his / her work and the partial results of the dissertation work (research design, data collection, data processing, data representation, text versions, drafts). At feedback, it is recommended to assess the work done according to the assessment criteria of the thesis.

Retake and late completion

Retake and make-up test options are defined by the valid regulations. The preparation of the thesis requires continuous work. The supervisor should make sure of the progress during the consultations and give feedback to the student. It is possible to postpone the submission of some assignments if it does not endanger the achievement of the goals of the subject for the given semester.
