The aim of the subject is to familiarize students with the meaning-making methods of film as a medium and provide tools for their interpretation. Along the semester, we discuss several aspects that help in approaching films, history, genre, auteurs, aesthetic, sociology, and the cultural market. Students completing the course have complex thoughts about the role of film in the everydays, for example they can use analytical categories such as the home, the family, domestication, and the identity.

1. The student knows the connections between communication and culture, the manifestations of this connection at different levels and their consequences in the context of social communication.
2. Reliable and soundl knowledge of the connections between the disciplinary fields of social science.
3. Reliable and soundknowledge of contemporary tendencies of methodologies of social science.

1. The student is able to develop the concept of adaptation for the management of changes, to discuss and accept it with colleagues and other partners.
2. Skills of making independent analysis, knowledge claims, explanations and drawing valid conclusions.

A 2.2. pontban megfogalmazott tanulási eredmények értékelése: a félév során egy órai előadás és két házi feladat 1/3 súllyal, beadandó dolgozat 2/3 súllyal.

Szorgalmi időszakban végzett teljesítményértékelések részletes leírása: 1. Részteljesítmény-értékelés: A hallgatóknak a félév során fel kell készülniük az egyik vetítésre kerülő alkotásból. Ez azt jelenti, hogy a vetítés előtt rövid, öt perces bevezetőt adnak elő, illetve a vetítés utánra beszélgetésgeneráló kérdéseket gyűjtenek. Két választott filmről egyoldalas kritikát kell írniuk. Összegző tanulmányi teljesítményértékelés: A félév végére beadandót kell készíteni. A beadandó témáját a félév során összeállított témák közül lehet választani. A választott kérdésfelvetést a félév során elsajátított eszköztár segítségével, legalább három, a kurzuson szereplő film elemző igényű hivatkozásával kell megválaszolni, valamint a félév során feldolgozott szakirodalom és legalább két további, a hallgató által gyűjtött szakirodalom felhasználásával.
