Objectives
This course is designed to introduce students to and model roles and functions in translation projects, workflows and project phases through economic, technical and EU-specific translation projects to be completed by students independently, in pairs or in teams. Students learn the skills during the semester to be able to successfully complete assignments in the translation industry through translation projects selected based on personal interests and completed in practical workshop sessions.

- • Students are familiar with the special features of translations completed in projects as well as the criteria and phases of efficient work management;
- • they know the roles and functions in translation agencies, the typical phases of translation projects and the realistic timelines needed to complete each of these phases;
- • they are familiar with the quality and ethical requirements in the translation industry as well as quality assurance and revision criteria.

- • They are expected to deliver quality work to meet the expectations of the translation market, both inde-pendently and in teams; they are able and ready to provide all the services offered by the translation market;
- • they assume responsibility for the accuracy of the translation process, the authenticity of the sources used and the revised quality of the completed translation.
Teaching methodology
Varied methods adapted to the purpose of the course, collective pre-processing of translation projects in Hungarian and foreign languages in the classroom; the autonomous completion of projects divided into phases (task allocation, scheduling, translation, revision); presentations summarising the planning, scheduling, the results and the workflow itself of projects submitted, delivered in the classroom (independently, in pairs or teams).
