Diploma translation (full time training) - BMEGT60S174

This course is designed to enable students to complete a translation meeting the requirements in terms of content and form (from Hungarian into a foreign language and from a foreign language into Hungarian) and to make a glossary for the translation from a foreign language into Hungarian as well as to write a translator’s commentary by the required deadline.

1. • Students are familiar with the formal requirements of the diploma translation, glossary and translator’s commentary.

1. • They make efforts to deliver an accurate and thorough translation while meeting all consultation and sub-mission deadlines.

1. • Based on the summary comments of their consultant, they make the suggested corrections and adjustments on their own.

Students select the text in the source language from the special areas on the thematic list received, on their own, which is approved by their consultant. They complete the translation on their own based on the required criteria and send a sample page chosen on their own to their consultant, who provides feedback. There is one consultation session organised in each semester where students are expected to have their questions and challenges related to the translation and the selection of the terminology to be included in the glossary predefined.

• Document for the specific semester including the requirements for content and form of the diploma translation and its annexes as well as the submission deadline. Specific materials related to the subject matter of the translation searched and found by the students on their own.

Az aláírás megszerzésének feltétele: a kötelezően előírt konzultációs alkalmak teljesítése, a konzultáción megbeszélt iránymutatások alkalmazása, illetve a diplomafordítás részeinek maradéktalan elkészítése és határidőre történő beadása.

A diplomafordítás végső eredményét a záróvizsga bizottság határozza meg: A záróvizsga bizottság külön érdem-jegyet határoz meg az idegen nyelvről magyar nyelvre, a magyar nyelvről idegen nyelvre történő fordítás és a glosszárium esetében. Amennyiben a diplomafordítás bármely része elégtelenre értékelt, az elégtelenre értékelt rész(ek)ből a hallgatónak új diplomafordítást kell készítenie, új forrásnyelvi szöveg(ek) alapján, melyet legkorábban a következő záróvizsga-időszakban védhet meg. Új diplomafordítás készítésére egyszer van lehetősége a hallgatónak.
