Programme: Specialised Translation for Technical, Economic and Social Sciences - distance learning (from 2021/22/Term 2)

Objectives
This course is designed to enable students, according to level C1 of the Common European Framework for Reference, to learn and use language skills and functions allowing them to efficiently carry out any tasks in their specialised translation and/or interpreting assignments as well as to demonstrate such skills and functions at the complex exam at the end of their studies, both in writing and speech.

Knowledge
- • Students are familiar with the vocabulary required for the specific level and know the language structures to be able to communicate at the specific level.
- • They know the written and spoken text types required for the specific level,
- • they are familiar with the basic strategies to understand and to produce such texts.
Skills
- • Students have the communication skills enabling them to efficiently carry out translation and/or interpreting assignments in areas such as international negotiations, conferences and business meetings.
- • They are able to independently and thoroughly process abstract ideas, phenomena and specialised vocabu-lary.
- • They are able to understand and communicate a variety of spoken information, primarily in texts relating to their own field of expertise but with some preliminary preparation, relating to a wide range of other special fields as well.
- • They are able to understand and produce well-structured and clear texts on a wide variety of topics,
