Objectives
The aim of the course is to help students deepen their knowledge of statistical analysis based on quantitative research methodology and to enable them to apply inferential statistical methods to real research data. Additional objectives include: (1) developing statistical thinking, (2) establishing a foundation for drawing conclusions from empirical data, and (3) developing the analytical skills necessary for conducting independent research.
Academic results
Knowledge
- - is familiar with the basic concepts of inferential statistics (sampling distribution, significance, confidence interval),
- - understands the logic and steps of hypothesis testing,
- - is aware of the conditions for applying the most important statistical tests (e.g., chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, regression),
- - is familiar with measures of reliability and validity of measurement instruments (e.g., Cronbach’s alpha),
- - understands the basic principles of simpler multivariate analyses (e.g., factor analysis).
Skills
- - select appropriate statistical methods for various research questions,
- - conduct hypothesis tests independently using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, JASP),
- - interpret analysis results professionally and place them in context,
- - identify multivariate relationships and model them at a basic level,
- - prepare a research report meeting scientific standards.
Attitude
- - strives to draw precise, data-driven conclusions,
- - critically evaluates statistical results and their limitations,
- - is open to learning more complex analytical methods,
- - is committed to adhering to research ethics standards and data integrity,
- - consciously avoids misinterpreting or overgeneralizing data.
Independence and responsibility
- - is able to independently design and conduct a quantitative analysis,
- - takes responsibility for the correct analysis and interpretation of data,
- - makes independent decisions regarding the selection of methodological approaches,
- - collaborates within a research group but performs analytical tasks autonomously,
- - reflects on their own analytical decisions and their consequences.
Teaching methodology
Throughout the semester, students master analytical algorithms under faculty guidance while gradually becoming more independent, and learn to interpret the results they obtain.

General Rules
A 2.1 és 2.2. pontban megfogalmazott célok és tanulási eredmények elérése a gyakorlatokon való aktív részvétellel, a kutatási tanulmány elkészítésével realizálódik.
Performance assessment methods
Szorgalmi időszakban végzett teljesítményértékelések részletes leírása: - A gyakorlatokon való aktív részvétel. - A kutatási tanulmány elkészítése és feltöltése a Moodle-be. Az AI alkalmazása megengedett, de figyelembe kell venni a kari és egyetemi ajánlásokat.
Percentage of performance assessments, conducted during the study period, within the rating
- 1. a gyakorlaton való részvétel aktivitása.: 20
- 2. a kutatási tanulmány elkészítése: 80
Percentage of exam elements within the rating
Issuing grades
