Objectives

This course offers skills development for students already at level B2 as a minimum. The purpose of the course is to develop all four language learning skills to level C1.

Academic results

Knowledge
  1. a conscious and systemic approach to the language skills to meet the requirements of level C1,
  2. linguistic and structural knowledge required for the students to be able to communicate at level C1.
  3. fluent and spontaneous speech without the need to search for words or expressions.
  4. a flexible and effective use of the language in a variety of social and professional situations.
Skills
  1. comprehension of an unclearly structured long text, possibly with a hidden meaning.
  2. comprehension of complex texts, tv-programs and films, almost without any difficulty
  3. clear and detailed explanation of a variety of complex subjects, combining them with other ideas and giving a clear conclusion.
  4. good use of a rich vocabulary including idioms and colloquial phrases.
Attitude
  1. Students feel comfortable in a number of areas of the target language’s culture(s) are aware of the differences between the Hungarian and the target language culture
Independence and responsibility
  1. Students are aware of their strengths and weaknesses,
  2. can maintain and develop their own language skills (have no problem reading complex texts, scientific arti-cles or listen to lengthy presentations)

Teaching methodology

The course aims at the development of productive skills as well. We apply a range of exercises in class, which enable the students to develop their speaking skills (pair work, group work).

A kurzus tananyagainak kiválasztásakor a következő alapelvek érvényesülnek: • segítse a hallgatót a globális problémákban való eligazodáshoz • a hallgató kritikus gondolkodását fejlessze • mélyebben megismerkedhessen a célnyelvi kultúra specifikus területeivel (pl., államformák, választási rend-szerek, híradók, a célnyelvi ország folyó ügyei, etc.) • gyarapíthassa az akadémikus és szakmájára vonatkozó szókincsét A nyelvi tárgyak esetében nem készülnek részletes tematikák, mert a tárgy célja a készségfejlesztés, és nem egy adott (tematizálható) tudásanyag frontális átadása. Ez ad lehetőséget arra, hogy a tematika az adott csoport igényeihez igazodjon, a tárgy céljainak megfelelően.
