Programme: Post-graduate Specialist Training Programme in Business and Conference Interpreting
Subject Role: Compulsory
Recommended semester: 2
Objectives
The main objective of the course is to consolidate and further enhance the simultaneous interpreting techniques acquired in the first semester, as well as the introduction of advanced coping strategies. Students gain an insight into analysing various text types and get to know various speaker styles and phrases often used in public speaking. They learn to distinguish between vari-ous linguistic registers and adjust their formulation to the given situation. They render shorter and longer speeches in simultane-ous mode from and into their A language. Their basic simultaneous skills and self-assessment skills are improved by analysing, interpreting and evaluating authentic audio and video recordings in classes and autonomously at home. Special emphasis is given in simultaneous tasks to the constant self-monitoring of interpreting performance. Certain unique interpreting situations also appear among the assigned tasks, e.g. simultaneous interpreting with text (SimText) and remote interpreting.

General Rules
Performance assessment methods
A hallgatók A és B nyelven tartott előadásait, valamint tolmácsolási teljesítményüket közösen értékeljük különböző módokon (egyéni tanári értékelés, társas és csoportos értékelés, szóban és írásban egyaránt). A félév során a házi fel-adatokat (hangfelvétel, jegyzetek, stb.) készítenek a megadott határidőre. A tantárgy oktatása során jellemzően fejlesz-tő értékelési technikákat alkalmazunk, a hallgatók önértékelése folyamatos.
